The 2017 Karen P. DePauw Outstanding Interdisciplinary Presentation Award was presented to Tony Timpano at the Interfaces of Global Change (IGC) Graduate Research Symposium. Tony spoke on the effects of coal mining on freshwater salinization and aquatic insect diversity. This years’ annual symposium was held on April 21, 2017 and provides an opportunity for IGC Fellows to share their research with the entire global change community at Virginia Tech.
